tax-avoidance-window

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: 17 August 2016

Responding to the publication of HMRC’s consultation document on strengthening tax avoidance sanctions and deterrents, Association of Revenue and Customs (ARC) President Vicky Johnson said:

“ARC has always welcomed any move to tackle tax avoidance and ensure that everyone pays the correct amount of tax.

“The most effective way to do this is to provide HMRC with the investment it needs to be properly resourced; with a pay system that rewards and retains the senior professionals needed to carry out Government policy.

“The consultation seeks to improve the tools available: ARC urges the Government to address the issues of pay and reward.”
