Compensation Scheme 2016: final offer to be implemented

FDA has received confirmation that the Minister for the Cabinet Office has concluded, following consideration of responses received from unions within the 31 October deadline, that ” a sufficient number of unions have accepted the offer on the Civil Service Compensation Scheme to constitute an agreement and will proceed with the offer as set out on 26 September”. This means that the final offer negotiated by FDA, and some other unions, will now be implemented. The final offer was accepted by 89% of FDA members participating in our recent ballot, and will apply to all ARC members working in HMRC.

In addition to FDA the final offer has also been accepted by seven other unions namely Prospect, UNISON, GMB, UNITE, The Defence Police Federation, The National Crime Officers Association and The Prison Governors Association.

What happens Now?

The Minister will lay an amendment scheme today to implement the terms set out in the final offer. The new CSCS terms will come into effect from tomorrow i.e. Wednesday 9 November.

FDA will now be involved in further dialogue over implementation issues with respect to the new compensation scheme terms and revised Protocol for avoiding compulsory redundancies.
